Laminated Card Empty Laminated Card

Post by joseph Mon Dec 15, 2014 5:59 pm

Attended a GST for HR - Implications on Staff Benefits workshop organised by MEF (Malaysian Employers Federation).

The speaker, Mr Thenesh Kannaa, the co-author for Malaysia Master GST Guide 2014, suggested a laminated card (credit card-size) for directors (and senior management staff, may I add) to carry in their wallets/pockets. This is to facilitate getting a full tax invoice from, say, the restaurant when they do entertainment on behalf of the company (note: maximum GST amount claimable from a simplified tax invoice is RM30).

Do remember that only GST incurred on entertainment expenses for employees and existing customers are claimable. GST incurred on entertainment expenses for potential customers and others are disallowed (“blocked”) under the GST Regulations 2014.
